Knowing where you are… – Post #3 [VIDEO]

I’m pretty happy with www.MyFirst100.com so far.  I received a comment (thanks Richard) fairly quickly… always a good sign!

Other than that comment, I have no idea what the stats are.  I’ve not a clue as to how many people see my site (maybe it’s just you and I here Richard?), no idea how many visit the posts, etc.  In fact… I am so clueless that I don’t even know the right questions to ask yet!

No matter… with a little action every day or two… I’ll learn.  By default, that means you will too!

This post contains a screencast that shows a nifty little site called website.grader.com.  It’s completely free and gives a fairly good summary of your website.  I also like it because when I use tools like this… it gets me asking questions.   Questions like…

How can I get more backlinks?
Where should I put my sqeezepage?
How can I improve my ranking in the search engines?

All these questions just lead to more (of course), but I am finding a few answers here and there.  Stay tuned… we’ll be covering some of the things I’ve found in the next post or two.

Incidentally, I found out about website.grader.com by reading “Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media and Blogs.”  The basic premise is that the old style of marketing (advertising) is dead… it’s all about getting people to want to come to you.  I recommend it.  In fact, if you are like me, you are too busy reading blogs to read actual books!    Want more info?  Here’s the link…

(Click here if you want the audiobook)

And yes, if you click on those links and purchase the book or audio book I will get an affiliate fee for helping them sell a few books/audio books.  Every dime helps to build the site and continue the work!  (And thanks for helping out!)

Enjoy the screencast and leave me a comment or two… would love to hear your feedback…
